Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be launched on September 30, 2019. Now, just days before it officially launched, the details of the engine variants and specifications were leaked on the internet.
According to the leaked documents from this Transport department, Maruti Suzuki's entry-level hatchback will be offered in four major variants namely Standard, LXI, VXI and VXI +, and is subsequently expanded to 10 iterations based on optional trim and options Transmission. Of course, this also confirms that S-Presso will be sold through the showroom network Maruti Suzuki Arena.
As for the engine option, as a new entry-level model, Suzuki S-Presso will get a 1 liter engine of Alto K10. The three-cylinder 998 cc gasoline engine set to produce 67 bhp at 5500 rpm. Slightly different from the engine installed on the Suzuki Alto which noted the power of the amount was achieved at 6000 rpm.
Unfortunately, in the document as reported Auto.Ndtv.com does not reveal torque figures, but it is likely the same as in Alto which is 90 Nm at 3500 rpm. This machine will be married with 5-speed manual gearbox and AGS 5-speed (Auto Gear Shift) or AMT (auto Manual transmission Unit).
In terms of dimensions, the new Suzuki S-Presso will be 3,665 mm in length and 1,520 mm wide, making it longer and wider than Alto K10 respectively of 120 mm and 5 mm.
Also, the car will be present in two tyre size options, which is 13 inches (probably for lower variants) and the tyres 14 inches for the highest variant. Different sizes of these tyres make each of them have a high dimension of 1,549 mm and 1,564 mm.
This makes the new S-Presso higher than the Alto K10 at 89 mm. The car will also come with a wheel axis distance of 20 mm longer than that of Alto at 2,380 mm.
The upcoming Suzuki S-Presso is based on the Heartect platform which also supports a variety of Maruti new-age models such as Wagon R, Swift, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire, and even Ertiga.
Suzuki S-Presso will likely come with safety features such as double airbag, ABS + electronic Distribution Brake (EBD) brake system and reverse parking sensors. In addition, Suzuki may also consider introducing the Smartplay Studio 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system in the higher S-Presso variant, as in the latest Suzuki Wagon R.
